Trash & Recycling Information

The town has changed trash services to APEX. Our trash days are still every Wednesday and now the recycle will start on Friday, January 13, 2023.

Hours

Starting January 2023 collection shall be made between the hours of 6:00 am and 7:00 pm on Wednesday of every week for trash and every other Friday for recycling. However, if any Wednesday or Friday falls on or follows Christmas, New Year’s Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Memorial Day, or Thanksgiving, collection shall instead be made on the Thursday or Saturday after the holiday. All trash and garbage must be set out by the citizens of the Town by 6:00 am the day of pickup or the Contractor APEX shall not be responsible for picking up trash and garbage on that particular day of that particular citizen. All collections shall be made as quickly as possible. In the event that weather conditions prohibit, at the discretion of the Street Superintendent of the Town or APEX, on any day collection is scheduled, APEX shall not be required to perform collection on that day, but shall be responsible for making collection the very next day that the conditions are not prohibitive.

Annual Town Cleanup

The annual town cleanup in the spring and fall at the request of the town are also included. Town cleanup will be limited: It can be 1 large item and the equivalent of 1 additional 95 gallon cart of trash or the equivalent of 3 - 95 gallon carts of trash. It CANNOT be 1 large item and 3 carts (ex: couch, dresser, mattress, etc.) per household.

Approved Containers

APEX, the Contractor will provide one trash and one recycle cart. Extra carts if needed, can be obtained once the service is started by contacting APEX directly for an additional $15.00 per month per cart. All trash to be collected by APEX must be bagged and shall be limited to 1 – 95 gallon trash collection cart provided by APEX. No grass clippings, leaves or yard waste shall be included in those bags. Currently, the landfill does not accept yard waste. All building materials, furniture including mattresses and box springs, appliances, and automotive parts will be hauled by the APEX, the Contractor at the owner’s expense and shall be additional to the contract price if not done at the annual clean up date.

Fees

• Year 1 $20.65 per home, per month ($14.00 waste, $6.65 recycle)
• Year 2 $21.68 per home, per month ($14.70 waste, $6.98 recycle)
• Year 3 $22.76 per home, per month ($15.43 waste, $7.33 recycle)
• Year 4 S23.89 per home, per month ($16.20 waste, $7.69 recycle)
• Year 5 $25.08 per home, per month ($17.01 waste, $8.07 recycle)
